Convergence into One Stream Education System Correctly, Now or Never!

It's the right thing to unify all school into one stream but this should be done 50 years ago.

One stream school system have many benefit to the country. It unify all ethnic group, study the same materials, socialize and work together. It will strengthen national unity and clear off many religion, cultural& ethnic misunderstanding.

It's possible and doable but will be difficult.

Why?

For more than 50years, vernacular school have to bite their teeth to raise fund building school infrastructure, teachers and education materials, is this fair for government simply take over and convert it to national school? How the school is going to answer to those contributed to its building?

How to guarantee national school treat everyone equal if the current national structure is not?

This is akin to occupy& change all the setting of someone house that he build from the ground and spend decades of hardship maintenance and strive. Suddenly his neighbor(that not doing so good) that all along depend on his tax money wanted to share a bit of his house and change everything!

Is this not like pimp treating prostitutes?

Well, practically everyone live under one roof is good because we can help each other but can you just knock the door and want a piece of other people hardship?

If that's your spouse, can lah! Kongsi (share) everything from bed to toothbrush also no problem!

China is getting stronger and there's every reason to learn Chinese language than Malay(to be honest) though every Malaysian should speak Malay, our national language. But practically if education is to prepare us for future then it should be going to that direction.

English is of course a must but Chinese and others ethnics should learn Chinese language as commercial or mother tongue. Likewise with Tamil and Punjabi.

1. To make all into one, government should ensure equal treatment in the national system first. From housing, investment&scholarships.

2. Ensure the quality of education system is parallel, if not better than, the previous system.

3. English should be the medium for teaching and no quota should be given to anyone regardless of location, ethnic or religion.

4. All vernacular school should maintain its name, history&identity.

5. Funding must be equally distributed based on need, not student ethnic or religion composition.

6. Ensure all teachers/educator will be trained and given equal opportunity& remuneration to adapt the new system.

7. Keep same status of recognition to all previous school graduate, whether to pursue further study or work.

8. Ensure ownership of the school remain to their previous status, if no changes.

DYMM Sultan Ibrahim

Johore King is wise& far sighted to decreed for the convergence into one stream education system for the prosperity and harmony of society but it's the government who should do their work.

Chinese afflicted political party are using Chinese school as vote pulling instrument without genuinely look at the ramifications. It seems like everyone is more interested to let their kind to lead than the kind to lead. It take a very generous leader to be neutral in human divide to genuinely benefit all.

Not even tripartite system is in balance, what more talk about equal treatment for all. The absence of Lord President already give no confidence in our jurisprudence and the government depending Chief Parliament let us doubt whether law is enacted in the genuine interest of people. There's not even a single executive member! It's questionable whether we are thinking with brain or otherwise?

There's many bold step by PM Najib that transform the country on right direction but we need fastest and even more daring move to reach 2020. Yes, it take time to build an empire but time is what we have wasted all these long.

Still wanna take more time?

Vernacular school is like being slow cooking in the diner pot without realize they are losing their bargain power. Of course, the ultimate aim is to unify all school which create a harmonious society is good.

By right, all school should be funded by government(except private school) but the increasing dependency on government of vernacular school will one day loose it's ability to survive when instructions to convert into national school is not followed. Then there's no bargain power: you choose either convert or cut fund.

Chinese lead political party couple with resistant to change people, there's only one chinese proverbs to describe“ δΈ€ι”…η†Ÿ”
To have a harmonious society, everyone need to be treated equally and reward based on meritocracy. This not only apply to school but in every aspect of national policy.

Yes, we should protect the weak, especially the bumiputra(Aborigines), to certain extend, but on which earth that an advanced country leaders is compulsory be the bumiputra?
Try Australia, the their bumiputra obviously very much lacking in terms of modern progression. How about New Zealand(white people migrate from Europe that rule the continent)? Or USA? Even American vote for an African ethnic origin President and obviously many president before Obama is not their native Indiana.

Singapore next Prime Minister is probably of Sri Lanka ethnic of origin despite 74% are Chinese. Even Jakarta elect Ah Hock (Chinese) as Mayor and probably the next President.

I think Malaysia is still very much behind in terms of human capital& quality of civilization even compare to less developed country around the region or even globally. Elsewhere people don't care what skin you clad on, it's what changes you can bring for a more prosperous& peaceful society.

To me, a country is merely boundary set by human, by means of bloodshed or otherwise. I don't see I'm bound live in a country forever. It's  reciprocally depending on condition, if I qualify to live in a more comfortable area then I'll move. If the area is not friendly (bad prospect) to me, I leave.

Unfortunately, i don't know Malaysia have any leader that can genuinely stand out for the Chinese, Indian or Minority except for Sarawak which they have a good CM.

By right, if equality is achieved there's no need to have representative stand out for certain race, there's only leader of a race; called human race, that we are brother& sister born from the same mother earth.

Let the frog cook slowly to death or negotiate  terms for mutual benefits? Depend whether our leader care more about themselves or those sacrifice in building school, education system, educator, international recognition& quality of education.

The fact that the greater concern is not about the past contributors and hardship struggled to keep vernacular school survived but the quality of education, losing one more bargain chip to restore equality in national policy, the chance to have a true harmonious and progressive nation that is based on meritocracy.

Ironically, this "walking dog" (ethnic betrayer) is killing itself if it's objective is to fight for its own kind but now letting the reason to support it to weaken. Ultimately, one stream education system will be materialized, by force or voluntarily, but till then this "walking dog" will lose its relevance to exist as well as the chance to meet it's objective.

I'm sure they're not that stupid to unable to see what's in the future. If they are, then they shouldn't be where they are now.

What I hope for is an inclusive society that embraces our diversity, a none-single-race-dominance policy, education and living that embrace multiculturalism.
